May Claire and Tyler’s love story began in high school—a journey that carried them through the years and led them to the Carr Chapel on the campus of Texas Christian University. For the bride, returning to TCU to exchange vows was meaningful. And for the groom, Tyler, it was about uniting his life with the woman he’s loved since they were teenagers.
Having grown up with Tyler, this wedding held extra significance for me. We were best friends in elementary and middle school. Filming the marriage of someone I’ve known for so long, and doing so in the city I now call home, made this day incredibly special. It felt like everything had come full circle.
While Tyler isn’t someone known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, that changed the moment he saw May Claire walk down the aisle. As she stepped into the light of Carr Chapel, he couldn’t hold back his tears—and that moment became the emotional centerpiece of the film.
It was a Catholic ceremony, complete with a full mass, which added a layer of reverence. Filming in such a sacred space required thoughtful logistics, especially as we worked to respect the traditions and layout of the altar. But these challenges were more than worth it to preserve the sanctity and intimacy of the moment.
One of my favorite parts of the day was shooting portraits in front of the chapel. The light was golden and soft, the colors vivid, and the love between May Claire and Tyler was evident. From a visual and creative standpoint, this footage was among the most rewarding I’ve ever worked with—pure magic from both a technical and emotional lens.
But the true magic was in the story. May Claire and Tyler’s film was built on a rich foundation of speeches, interviews, and meaningful moments. It was deeply story-driven, as many of our films are, but this one stood out. Their voices and those of their loved ones gave the film its heartbeat.
The response from the couple was everything a filmmaker hopes for. They loved every detail, and even the mother of the bride reached out separately to express how perfectly the video captured their personalities. That kind of feedback means the world—and reminds us why we do what we do. The bride summed up their experience perfect:
“Mason is the best!!! He captured our wedding day perfectly and included every special detail! Mason is easy to work with and fun to have around! Would recommend him every time!!”
What made this wedding even more unique was the dual connection—to the couple and to the location. As someone who grew up with Tyler and now lives in Fort Worth, filming this wedding felt like documenting a chapter of my own story too.
This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a celebration of legacy, love, and lifelong friendship. And I’m honored Jade Films was there to tell that story.
